The Order of the Magi was Founded in Manchester, England in March 1909 and is the 3rd Oldest Magic Club & Magical Society for Magician’s in England.
We have published things on a monthly basis since early 1909 in the form of a Prospectus and then later a “monthly programme” before an official Club Journal “The Magi” was launched on 1st May 1910 of which as a club we have never missed publishing a monthly copy since.

UPDATED ON 28th JULY 2026 WITH NEW EVIDENCE THAT MAGI PUBLISHED SOMETHING EACH MONTH FROM 1909 BUT NOT A MAGAZINE WHICH NOW WE KNOW FOR SURE WAS FIRST PUBLISHED MAY 1910 AS A FIRST ISSUE OF THE MAGAZINE (ACTUALLY TWO COPIES OF IT) HAVE BEEN DISCOVERED - UPDATES ARE AT BOTTOM OF PAGE
During July 2026, JONATHAN ROYLE who is The Current Public Relations (PRO) & Entertainments Officer of The Order of the Magi spent several days and many many hours at Manchester Central Library going through the Order of the Magi Archives.
Due to his limited time available he had to cherry pick which items to photograph, but the first approx. 1,200 items from the archives are now online for all to see in the Photo albums section of The Official Order of the Magi Facebook Page located at
