***MEET BRIAN HOWARD aka HOBRIN MASTER OF THE TAROT***
_______________________________________________________________________

---AND DISCOVER THE TRUE HISTORY OF THE A.P.H.P. & A.P.S.H--
_______________________________________________________________________

I first made contact with The Late Brian Howard a former Police Detective turned Hypnotherapist, Stage-Hypnotist, Mentalist & Tarot Reader from Warrington in England back in 1989 (when I was just 14) and I lied about my age (saying I was 18) so I could enroll in his HYPNOTHERAPY DIPLOMA COURSE.

Consequently aged 14 (I later confessed my real age) I passed the Exam and became a Diploma Bearing Member of the Association of Professional Hypnotherapists & Psychotherapists = APHP.

I also shortly after became a member of the Association of Professional Stage Hypnotists = APSH = again another organization set up and run by the Late Brian Howard.

Further I also became a member of his Lotus Foundation for Psychic Studies after studying their courses & passing their entrance exam.

Then years later so impressed by the courses formulated by Brian I did what Victor Kiam did with a shaving company and I acquired the Legal Rights to Market Brian's courses and also to take over the running of the APHP, APSH & Lotus Foundations.

In regards to the APHP the name of which I changed in the mid 90's to The Association of Professional Hypnotherapists & Psychotherapists the full story of how someone HAS ILLEGALLY STOLEN (after taking my home study course) the name is explained at this link:

https://web.archive.org/web/20240315012244/https://klearthoughtsmentalismhypnosis.wordpress.com/2017/09/09/aphp-how-to-join-the-association-of-professional-hypnotherapists-psychotherapists-circa-1993-formerly-the-association-of-professional-hypnotherapists-parapsychologists-circa-1980s/

Anyhow I have to say sincere thanks to the Legendary New Zealand Psychic & New Age Author Richard Webster for kindly sending me one of the photographs on this page as all of my photos of me and Brian together got destroyed some years ago in a massive flood at my former home.

The other images I just found on a newspaper archive website.

Should anyone else have any pictures of Brian Howard aka Hobrin then I would greatly appreciate you sending me a copy to royle@magicalguru.com

For those who would like to become Lifetime Members of the Official APHP and learn all the exact things that Brian Howard taught me back in 1989, you can find them all inside my ELITE HYPNOSIS BOOTCAMP full details of which are at:

Incidentally this photograph has today just been placed into the final spare position (so no space left now) on my office wall as shown and explained in this video here:

ROYLES MAGIC DEN UPDATES 23rd NOVEMBER 2020

FULL DETAILED EXPLANATION OF ALL OFFICE MEMORIES

APHP = ASSOCIATION OF PROFESSIONAL HYPNOTHERAPISTS & PSYCHOTHERAPISTS

MEMBERSHIP IS FREE TO MEMBERS OF THE UNITED KINGDOM BOARD OF CLINICAL HYPNOTHERAPY = UKBCH

United Kingdom Board of Clinical Hypnotherapy UKBCH

IMPORTANT NOTE = The Diploma above is dated 1990 as that is when it was issued as a replacement to the ORIGINAL FROM 1989 which I was awarded the year before but got accidently destroyed.

APHP = The Association of Professional Hypnotherapists & Psychotherapists.

NOTE = The images of Newspaper cuttings in this album all Pre-Date 1996, this is important as it was Circa early 1996 when Terrence Watts who ran The Essex Institute of Clinical Hypnosis took my Mind-Care Organisation Course in Complete Mind Therapy and was then awarded membership of APHP by me which by that time I had bought the rights from Dr. Brian Howard and officially changed the name from Association of Professional Hypnotherapists and Parapsychologists to APHP then meaning from Circa 1994/1995 onwards "The Association of Professional Hypnotherapists & Psychotherapists"

THE HISTORY OF THE APHP IS EXPLAINED HERE

(Including how Terrence Watts stole the use of APHP related to a Hypnotherapy Organisation from me in 1996 when he got APHP trademarked, a trademark which I could have had (and still could) have legally REVOKED at anytime if I so desired due to all the proof I have that

a) APHP was in use connected to a Hypnotherapy Association from 1987 onwards to the present day without interruption

b) Thus APHP connected to a Hypnotherapy Association was in use for NINE FULL YEARS before Terrence Watts obtained a Trade Mark on it which frankly was NOT and is NOT worth the paper it was/is printed on.

c) The fact that Terrence Watts took my APHP (By then Association of Professional Hypnotherapists & Psychotherapists) Home Study Course which he bought from The Mind-Care Organisation in Huddersfield in early 1996 some months before he suddenly got a trademark on APHP which as I say given all the proof we have I could have easily got legally revoked at any time.

I had already in 1989 got training from Dr Brian Howard aka HOBRIN as mentioned in another post and at link above..

This short video is of DELAVAR -

Next we Move Onto another of my First Hypnosis teachers Payl Nyle’s

PAYL NYLES - ONE OF MY FIRST HYPNOSIS TEACHER'S

Back in Circa 1987/1988/1989 I met Payl Nyles at a Blackpool Magic Convention as I ended up sat next to him in the Close-Up Magic Performances and we both ended up speaking to Fay Presto after her excellent performance where I was lucky enough to be given the Split Decision (Banana Split) Card Trick by her as a present.

NOTE = Even if it was as late as Blackpool 1989 as it happened in Feb I would still only have been 13 years and 6 months old at the time!

Anyhow Payl was living in Manchester and with me only in Heywood at the time (one bus journey away) we became friends and indeed during the middle of 1989 (as best I can recall) he gave me the boxed set of "The Mythic Tarot" a deck of Tarot Cards that later in 1989 around December ish (still aged 14) I started giving readings with at Psychic Fayres over the Northwest of England as organised by Zara Bray aka Bev Smith and also at Home Psychic Parties that I started getting thanks to adverts I put into Newsagent Shop Windows and in places like hairdressers around the area.

By April 1991 (date of Psychic News article shown on my Resume page) I was doing full blown Stage Psychic Clairvoyant Style shows.

https://www.magicalguru.com/past-life-regression-psychic-experiments-2/

Anyhow by December 1990 as illustrated by the Stage Newspaper article further above, Payl Nyles had decided to quit showbiz as a Stage Hypnotist.

Prior to this I on occasion worked as his Sound technician doing the music for his Stage Hypnosis shows one of which was at a Snooker Club in Liverpool (where I also did Close-Up Magic for the customers before Payl's Hypnosis Show) and I am fairly certain it was the club in the advert in the image below.

Anyhow also in 1990 (year I turned 15) I was doing Public Demonstrations of my Hypnosis Skills as part of my Talks at the Psychic Fayres that I was doing Tarot Readings at around the Northwest of England having already in 1989 (having lied about my age) passed the APHP Correspondence Course in Hypnotherapy a course run by Brian Howard (see photo of man reading Tarot Cards

https://www.magicalguru.com/royles-career-resume-hypnosis-qualifications-2/

As best as I can recall it was around March 1989 (I was still only 13 and almost 7 months old) that Payl kindly gave me a green covered book on Clinical Hypnotherapy from which I learnt the Locked Hands and other techniques and started causing mayhem in the School playground testing things out.

It was just after my Birthday in 1989 when I turned 14 that I signed up to the APHP course as per info at the link above and before that year ended I'd started doing Hypnotherapy Sessions for which I was earning money before I turned 15 in August 1990.

So from reading that book that Payl kindly gave me and also observing Payl's live shows (some of which I did the sound/music control for) is one of thigs which initially set me on the path to becoming a Hypnotist.

Everything that I ever learnt from him is taught within my Elite Hypnosis Bootcmap as per - https://www.magicalguru.com/elite-hypnotherapy-nlp-hypnosis-stage-hypnotism-bootcamp/

I believe as per image below which I saw on Facebook around 6 months ago now, that Payl who is now past retirement age in England is offering to do “Stage Clairvoyant
Style” Spiritualist Medium Stage Shows to help raise money for local charities.

It seems that a short time after me being unable to do the sound for one of his late nights due to my mum not allowing me to do it on that occasion leading to Payl then contacting my School and cancelling my work experience that had been arranged with him that he actually went bankrupt in 1991 and then some time later in around June 1998 was sent to jail for 3 months as per the images below.

NATHAN DEMDYKE - SPIRITUALIST MEDIUM & CLAIRVOYANT

It was Nathan Demdyke (aka Peter Keefe) who in 1990 when I had just turned 15 taught me how to do STAGE CLAIRVOYANCE CONTACTING THE DEAD style demonstrations...

As a result I ended up being proclaimed by Psychic News as "The New Uri Geller & Doris Stokes Rolled Into One" and also appeared at many Theatres and Civic Halls and Psychic Fayre & Spiritualist Events in the North-West of England.

What Nathan taught me is all included within the pages of my book THE PSYCHIC SECRETS OF ALEX-LE-ROY as per

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Psychic-Secrets-Alex-Roy-Mentalism/dp/1512039683/

Also take a look at:

https://www.magicalguru.com/past-life-regression-psychic-experiments-2/

And bear in mind I did in later years adapt the skills I had learnt to become a BIZARRE MEDIA PSYCHIC as per

https://www.magicalguru.com/bizarre-media-psychic/

The final 2 images show me doing a Children’s Magic Show for the Christmas Party of Betty & Dots Carpet Cleaners which was run by Nathan/Peters wife and also his comment about my show afterword’s.

THE LATE & GREAT CLOWN MAURICE DEREK BENN aka BEN LESTER

MAURICE DEREK BENN = THE LATE & GREAT CLOWN BEN LESTER

It may seem strange to move from Hypnotist’s & Psychic’s to a Clown….

However, a number of the props I used in my Children’s Magic Shows were ones that I was kindly given by the Late Clown Ben Lester and I was reminded of this as I posted the images above of me performing for Psychic Nathan Demdykes Christmas Party Event so whilst fresh in my mind some memories also of Ben Lester…

Ben Lester was a great positive influence on me Magically when I was young as you will discover later in this post.

He Passed away peacefully on 16th January 2023 Aged 94

https://funeral-notices.co.uk/notice/benn/5100052

Farewell to clown who made kids smile in '60s and '70s

https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/news/leicester-news/farewell-clown-who-made-kids-8102955

Indeed he had known my Dad TIZZY THE CLOWN for many years before I was even born.

I gather my Dad gave Ben Lester a Dagger Head Chest Illusion in exchange for Ben making him a breathing Egyptian Mummy which ended up on show in my mum and dads walk around HORROR SIDE SHOW that they took on the gaffs (fairgrounds) many, many years ago...

Ben would each year for several years perform at Queens Park in Heywood with his Comedy Bicycles, Clown Gags & Magic Tricks Show which I would of course see each time he was there and he would also come and visit us after the shows at our house on Starkey Street.

I well remember one year, as best as I can recall around 1980 or 1981 (I think I was ten a bit years old at time) ??

Anyhow Ben was in Heywood doing his show and found out that it was my birthday and so he kindly gave me £5.00 as a birthday present.

He also knew my interest in Magic had grown massively and told me that he was having a clear out of some magic props he no longer used and indeed some he had never used so were as good as new.

He asked if I'd be interested in perhaps buying some of them to which I of course said yes and started saving up all my birthday money and anything I could earn/save before he was due back in the area in a few weeks time for another show.

A few weeks later Ben was back with a VERY LARGE SUITCASE of Props including numerous lovely wooden props from Jack Hughes, Supreme Magic & Harry Stanley.

A lovely set of Elusive Rabbits, A Wise Old Owl Vanishing Box, appearing silk on cane, Supremes On Guard and many other props in immaculate condition..

I saw them all and then Ben asked me if I'd be interested in any of them to which I honestly answered, YES I'D LOVE THEM ALL BUT WON'T BE ABLE TO AFFORD THEM ALL..

So then I asked what are the prices of each trick please?

Ben paused and then after a short time said...

"Just give me back that fiver I gave you for your birthday and you can have the lot"

And needless to say I did not hesitate to hand him back the exact same five pound note he had given me even though was at the time somewhat in a state of shock that I now suddenly thanks to Ben's enormous generosity owned all of these wonderful props..

Props which I did use in various shows & performances for many years.

He was indeed a most generous and lovely man who is greatly missed by many.

Next I’d like to mention BENTLEY EVANS aka William Richardson…

BENTLEY EVANS & THE MALAGA INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF HYPNOSIS

Gather his real name was William Richardson and he lived in Blackpool for some time in very early 90's...

I learnt a fair bit about STAGE HYPNOSIS & Hypnotherapy from William/Bentley during the time he resided in Blackpool thanks to an introduction by my Late friend Julian Gormley..

When in Spain he ran MIIH aka THE MALAGA INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF HYPNOSIS

They offered LEARN A LAGNUAGE IN ONE WEEK COURSES..

Turns out he just hypnotised people and then kept playing them the Link Word Magic Memory Language Cassettes that Paul Daniels had put out on the market..

Paul Daniels himself told me he had to threaten Bentley with Legal Action over this..

I did learn some great Rapid Induction methods from him though

Anyhow everything I learnt from him and ALL my other teachers over the years is shared inside my ELITE HYPNOSIS BOOTCAMP AS PER -

https://www.magicalguru.com/elite-hypnotherapy-nlp-hypnosis-stage-hypnotism-bootcamp/

Next a mention of one my early Clinical Hypnotherapy Mentor’s

PAUL BRADY - CLINICAL HYPNOTHERAPIST

ROCHDALE HYPNOTHERAPY CENTRE & BEYOND

In very early 1993 I invited Rochdale Hypnotherapist Paul Brady to a Hypnosis Show I was doing in Oldham with some trepidation he accepted the invite and actually enjoyed the experience.

Indeed he kindly invited me to his meet up group for local Hypnotherapists and in next to no time also kindly gave me use of an office at ROCHDALE HYPNOTHERAPY CENTRE

(In truth I did not turn 18 until August 13th 1993 but had lied about my age or rather had just let people assume that press articles saying I was 18 were true - SORRY)

Late 1993 Paul who was at the time a committee/council member for Frank Lennon's National Register of Advanced Hypnotherapists (NRAH) & also for Neil French's International Association of Hypno-Analysts (IAH) engaged me to present a seminar entitled STAGE HYPNOSIS - FACT OR FICTION? to a sold out audience of experienced Hypnotherapists & Mind Therapy Practitioners.

On a side note many years later FRANK LENNON contacted me wanting to book me to do a Comedy Stage Hypnosis show at his Local Working Men's Club but he could not afford my fee so I passed it onto my Hypnosis Student and Friend Mark Howe who did the show with great success...

We also worked together on promoting other events including ones where the Late David Landau who used to run the OVERCOME YOUR FEAR OF FLYING courses for Virgin Atlantic as per - https://www.wanderlustmagazine.com/inspiration/fly-without-fear/ came and did masterclasses for both the Public and also other therapists.

And we even appeared in the media together the PAST LIFE REGRESSION article located at link below being just one example as we also did various Radio Interviews together as well..

THE APRIL 1994 PAST LIFE REGRESSION ARTICLE

https://www.facebook.com/alexthehypnotist/posts/pfbid02Lat1JTSCesAgAbSvNCBUzEix43WTgmfBGZBHybpwFnHaF3BFU6ZpYTNNJuHFsBGVl

I learnt a lot about Hypno-Analysis and Psychotherapeutic Counselling Style Hypnotherapy approaches during those times with my now friend of the past 34+ years.

So THANK YOU so much for engaging me to do my first ever Hypnosis Training Seminar in late 1993...

THANK YOU for giving me my first Hypnotherapy Office

And THANK YOU for your friendship over the past 34+ years...

Years on I now actually have TWO.... Yes TWO so called "official hypnosis qualifications" which are approved by The General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC) & General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) as can be seen here

https://www.magicalguru.com/royles-career-resume-hypnosis-qualifications-2/

#PaulBrady #NeilFrench #DavidLandau #IAH #NRAH #FrankLennon #Hypnotherapy #Hypnotherapist

Finally in terms of Stage-Hypnosis & Psychic Fortune Telling Style stuff I also got a lot of advice and help at an early age from The Late Roy Rama as per the next link

To complete this page, a mention of two people who gave me great advice about my more conventional Magic & Conjuring related elements of my career, although Jack Steel also did some Stage Hypnosis shows over the years..

And finally for a man who was very much of a Father Figure to me as well as my main Magical Mentor, The Late Jack Griggs
