Back in the old days of 1995 once a year Manchester’s Magic Club & Magical Society for Magician’s often dubbed as Manchester’s answer to The Magic Circle would hold a new members night where all the new members who had joined in the previous 12 months would perform to entertain all the other long time members…
Whilst there are still many opportunities to perform your Magic Trick’s & Mentalism to fellow members of the Magi we offer such on a far more informal and far more relaxed basis these days by way of our various Magical Jamming Social Nights throughout the course of the year in between our regular star lecturers as per

First up to perform at the 1995 new Members Night was Mark Bailey, I notice that Adrian Sullivan still an active member of the Magi was President at the time and that acting as compere was I believe Tony Collier.
Following on from Mark Bailey was another person who is currently an active Magi Member namely Ian Hirst who kindly supplied me with this Archive video footage
Following Ian Hirst we were treated to a performance by Shezhad Hussain
Shezhad Hussain was then followed by the Magical Stylings of John Green
After John Greens performance next up was Magic from Nicholas Duffy
Following Nicholas Duffy was Mr Fenton Senior
Straight after Mr Fenton Senior we were treated to Fenton of the Opera
Then the Awards were presented by Adrian Sullivan the 1995 President

As an extra added “treat” here is some rehearsal footage and some caught on camera phone footage of my 2016 Cabaret & Stage Magic Competition Act which contributed to me during the 2016 to 2017 Order of the Magi Academic Year winning the Cabaret/Stage Trophy, The Close-Up Magic Trophy and also the Best Card Trick Trophy…

And finally here I am doing some Close-Up Magic Card Tricks which is what I would have done if ever I’d had to do a New Members night at The Order of the Magi and are the kinds of things that helped me win the Best Card Trick Shield in 2016/2017.
Although I most likely would have done this trick as well as these days its one of my favourites
Anyhow I can confirm I will NOT be taking part in the July 2026 Close-Up Competition as I shall be away in the Sun on Holiday with my Family..
