On 6th October 2019 I went to Manchester Airport and started my trip to travel to the Seychelles to perform a very special Adults Only Comedy Stage Hypnosis Show for a member of Middle Eastern Royalty & his V.I.P. Guests.
It was 7th October 2019 by the time I was going to be leaving Dubai for the final part of my trip to The Seychelles
I arrived at The Kempinski Seychelles Resort Baie Lazare where I was staying whilst I was in the Seychelles with most of the day of 7th October free to relax and enjoy myself as my show was not until the following evening.
During the course of the day I kept seeing a lady in the resort and thinking she looks familiar but for the life of me I could not work out why and given the nature of the resort and why I was there I did not want to go pestering her whilst she was on Holiday in this luxurious resort.
Anyway the next day I also relaxed and enjoyed the sun before getting ready for my performance in an exclusive invite only 5 Star Restaurant, Bar & Cabaret venue that was not officially open to guests of Kempinski Seychelles Resort Baie Lazare but which you could get to from the resort by way of a heavily security guarded door which would then give you access to the “Private Area”
Given the nature of this private event and the member of Middle Eastern Royalty hosting it, I cannot disclose who the client was, but I can tell you his guests consisted of Super Model’s, Celebrities and extremely rich V.I.P.’s.
And I can tell you that everyone had to hand their mobile devices into security as filming and photography was strictly off limits.
Pictured above are the chairs set on the stage with a full stage size screen at the back and proper stage lighting, wings, big back stage area and proper front of house music control in this cabaret style restaurant (they served food), bar and miniature theatre all rolled into one.
It was a true pleasure to work in this venue and really memorable when I ended up getting a hypnotized person to give one of the Member of Royalty’s Body Guards a lap dance after making the Hypnotized man believe that they were the World’s Greatest Gay Male Lap Dancer…
Yes I went there, after all I’d been booked specifically to give an adults only show and rest assured I did not hold back…
Pictured above I had just got changed in my plush dressing room before making the final checks for my performance that night.
Anyhow before my show started I got talking to people back stage and it turned out that the night before they had another show on, namely British Comedy Ventriloquist Nina Conti with Monkey!
Well the moment they told me that the penny drop and I knew exactly who I had kept seeing around the resort the previous day it was of course Nina Conti who I think is exceptionally talented and I understand went down a real storm the night before I did my show for the same audience.
If my memory serves me correctly the back stage crew also mentioned that Nina had done a Hypnosis related comedy routine in her show the previous night which I suspect may have been along the lines of that in the video above.
In any event her performance had certainly gone down extremely positively and put everyone in the right frame of mind for what turned out to be a truly unpredictable and outrageous night of Adult’s Only Comedy Stage Hypnosis from yours truly.
On a side note I am also proud to be able to state that several of my Stage Hypnosis students have since also been engaged to perform at this same exclusive venue in the Seychelles due to me recommending them for the job!

The first performance being highly memorable as everything that could go wrong before the show did…
For starters when I arrived in Bahrain I discovered much to my dismay that all of my luggage, show props, music & costumes had all got stuck in Amsterdam.
The airline told me that they would deliver everything to my hotel later that day, however the next day arrived and still I had not been reunited with my things.
So off to the market it was to buy a whole bunch of music, some things I could use as props for comedy routines within my show and to buy clothes I could wear as a costume and then it was back to the hotel for a sound check & technical rehearshal.
My Show technical rider and booking contract both made it clear that I would need a Shure Radio Microphone and yet when I got to the tech rehearsal all I could see was a Shure lead microphone in a stand on the stage.
I asked the guys where is the Radio Microphone, they did not seem to understand what I meant by Radio Microphone and so I said to them I need a wireless no wires used microphone
And this is when I could not believe what happened next…
One of them came onto the stage and took the Shure Microphone out of its stand and unplugged the cable from the bottom of the mike and then handed it to me and said there you go a microphone with no wire attached.
I thought for a moment it must be a joke but then sadly realised he was deadly serious..
It took way longer than it should of done to get them to understand what I actually needed and then it was panic stations as they did not have one available on site and had to track one down and get it to me in time for the show which they just about did.
Well the show itself went amazingly well given that I had to use music and props I’d put together at the last minute grabbed from the local market.
But then to add insult to injury I walked off stage and as I walked into the Hotel Foyer to head to my Hotel Room to get changed for the “after show party” I was greeted by the sight of my luggage being rolled into the hotel by the Airport delivery people.
Yes all my luggage, props and costumes arrived at the hotel but not until minutes after I had walked off stage.
Since that day I have always ensured I have all my music tracks and enough props and a make shift (as good as it can be when it has to fit into hand baggage) costume in my carry on luggage so that I am prepared if such an issue ever happens again.
Some years ago I was also flown out by Richard Branson’s Virgin Group to Barbados to perform two shows, one for some of their staff from around the world and another for invited V.I.P’s.
The first show was at The Lone Star Restaurant and was memorable as some people present had never heard of Hypnosis and had no comprehension or idea what it was and so I had to kind of give a bit of an educational talk/lesson at the start of my show before proceeding as I usually would in order to actually be able to get as many people as possible to participate.
What a memorable night that was in Barbados with Debbie Parris after my Hypnosis show at The Lonestar Restaurant for which I was booked and paid for by Virgin & Richard Branson, when she so kindly took me out and about for the "After party"

The next night after a day swimming with turtles and drinking in rum shacks on the side of the street close to my what can only be described as bungalow sized detached accommodation set in a beautiful exclusive resort I had the Virgin Staff Party to perform for at The Hilton Hotel in Barbados
This was another memorable night and among the many people I talked to after the show was an Airline Pilot who asked me about Hypnotherapy for improving Sports performance and I recall taking his contact details and saying that I would when I got home to England send him a Hypnotherapy recording that would help him as a gift from me as it had been such a pleasure talking to him.
The next day I was driven to the airport and after checking in my bags I went through security and as I was walking along I heard a voice shout “Hey Jonathan”
I turned and after a few moments realised that it was the airline pilot who I had been speaking to the previous night after my show.
We talked for a short while and then he asked me where I was flying to and I said Manchester to which he responded, oh OK then just follow me…
And follow him I did straight through the Pilots staff entrance and onto the plane and directly to the First Class area.
It was also that day that I discovered there is more than one pilot on a flight as mid flight whilst I was having a drink from the bar suddenly the pilot appeared and came to have a chat with me during which of course I asked “Who is flying the plane if you are here talking to me?”
He laughed and explained how his co-pilot was in the cock pit but that the plane practically flew itself…
Another overseas performance memory that jumps to mind is when in 2013 I performed my Mentalism & Mind Reading show as the warm up show for my friend and colleague “Incredible Hypnotist Richard Barker” in Florida.
This was the night before we got onto the Carnival Fun Ship Ecstasy for the first ever Hypnotist Entertainment Cruise for which I had been engaged as the first ever headline speaker and trainer along with support from Jay Noblezada.

What really sticks in my mind is that they decided to search my luggage at either Chicago O Hare or JFK Airport (I don’t remember which exactly) but in any event these customs people had machine guns and were not to be messed with.
I also did not have a work permit for this particular trip and so had to say I was going to a Magic Convention as a Speaker (which would then be covered by the ESTA I did have) in order to explain away all the Magic Props and also Hypnosis comedy Props that I had in my suitcase.
Luckily for me after asking me to perform a few tricks for them they let me pack my case back up and go on my way.

In Vegas we were joined by Brain Stracner The Hypno Swami and also James Szeles who kindly did a guest speaking slot as part of my course and also helped arrange for us all to go see Kevin Lepine & Anthony Cools Hypnosis Shows whilst we were there!

I’ve performed my Stage Hypnosis Show in Sweden on a number of occasions over the years since the first time I was taken to Sweden to perform a show for F-Secure one of the World’s Biggest Cyber Security Companies at The Rival Theatre which is connected to the Hotel Rival which I stayed in whilst there.
One of my Hypnosis Students Henry Leander Andersen from Norway was approached to do the show but passed the client onto me as he felt they needed (at the time) somebody more experienced for the job…
The client kindly arranged for Henry to be able to attend the show along with his good lady and above we are pictured after the show when we had gone to a few bars for the “after show” party…
As this was a Corporate Show with an audience filling the theatre made up of F-Secure staff from all over the world, it was essentially a squeaky clean family friendly show of which Henry was able only to grab a small amount of footage on his mobile phone hence the grainy footage below….

One of the most unexpected outcomes of an overseas performance was to come years after I had appeared on Ulster Television’s “The Kelly Show” in Ireland with my Bizarre Belly Button Reading Psychic Talents as per:

I was flown to Ireland to appear on the Live Friday Night Show as best as I can recall during late 1996 or very early 1997 and was staying at The Stormont hotel in Belfast.
The show was presented by the Late Gerry Kelly and was one of Ireland’s most watched Television shows, sadly Gerry Kelly passed away in July 2026.
Well on that show among other Celebrity Guests was British Comedian Kenny Everett’s Ex Side Kick Cleo Rocus and she was one of the people whose Belly Button’s I had to place my finger into and give my “Psychic” impressions from and about.
We met before the show and got on extremely well talking about all areas of Showbusiness and mutual friends and such like and then after the show had finished and come off air we were all waiting for our individual cars to come and take us to our hotel.
Well Cleo’s car was one of the first to arrive and as we were deep in conversation she told me to just jump in her car and come back to the hotel with her which of course I was happy to do as it meant I could get to the bar quicker for the “after show” party.
Well after several drinks, conversation and laughs galore both with Cleo and also the other guests who were by now there with us that had also been on that nights “The Kelly Show” it was time for bed.
It turned out Cleo was in a room a couple of doors down from mine on the same floor and so we shared a lift up, said goodnight to each other and that was that.
Indeed that was that, however in January 2007 some approx. Ten Years later Cleo Rocus appeared as a contestant on Celebrity Big Brother.
During that time I was having a drink with a Daily Sport journalist in Manchester about another matter and the subject of Big Brother came up.
He mentioned Cleo Rocos and how she was associated with the character “Miss Whiplash” in The Kenny Everett Television Show where She played the dominatrix-style character alongside Kenny Everett in the 1980s.
I mentioned that I had given Cleo a Psychic Style Belly Button Reading live on one of Ireland’s most popular Television programmes “The Kelly Show” and related the story of how she had kindly given me a lift back to the hotel and how I’d shared the lift with her to our floor before saying goodnight.
Well next thing you know the Daily Sport have published a feature article where I have apparently done a “Kiss and Tell” or as they call it in the newspaper world a “Kiss and Sell” about my night of wild sex with Cleo Rocus.
I later confronted the journalist about the wholly fabricated article of which its only true elements were that I had been on the Kelly Show with Cleo, I’d given her a Psychic Belly Button reading live on TV, she had kindly given me a lift back to The Stormont Hotel, we had indeed had several drinks together and yes we did share a lift together up to the same floor of the hotel where both of our rooms were closely situated.
He said to me they had spoken to someone at the Hotel who confirmed that me and Cleo seemed to be getting on extremely well and that they recalled seeing us share a lift together and based on that the so called journalist said nobody could prove one way or the other if we had then got up to anything so he made up a story and ran with it, the bare faced cheek of it…
However to set the record straight I went to my room alone and Cleo went to hers alone and nothing of a sexual nature ever took place between us on that night despite the outrageous account of a night of wild dominatrix style sex that the Daily Sport took it upon themselves to fabricate & publish!
Although over the decades I have physically travelled extensively to perform all over Europe and in many other places around the world, arguably one of my most memorable trips was the week I spent in Amsterdam filming my 2001 Bizarre & Surreal Comedy Variety Show Sitcom Style Series “Life in The Bus Lane”
