I’ve put this page together mainly as a “place-holder” for me to easily be able to find all the videos & pictures & links to other archived memories, blog pages and such, but that said no doubt somebody else somewhere may also find it of interest.

In any event I was born plain Alex William Smith on 13th August 1975 into a showbiz family whilst they were travelling with Gandey’s Circus.

This meant that for the first just over 5 years of my life I grew up living in a Caravan (trailer) which would have likely been the bigger version of the Astral pictured below

These days I can’t think of anything worse than being forced to live for any period of time (even just for a short holiday) in a Caravan but I guess that is because so Many traumatic things happened to me during those early formative years of my life.

After all by the time I was 5 my life had almost been brought to an end when I was mauled by a Puma and I’d had the experience of getting hit twice daily around the side of the head by one of the Brooke Bond PG Tips Tea Advert Chimpanzee’s

Next you can see me in my cot inside the trailer apparently trying to get out which it seems I was at times quite successful at as it seems on one occasion my parents awoke in the early hours to discover I was not in my cot.

Not only had I somehow managed to get out of it, but also I’d somehow managed to pile up toys and other things in order to be able to climb up them and then unlock the trailer door to let myself out.

Apparently I was found walking down the middle of a nearby main road with my romper suit around my ankles.

It seems I was a lot better at Escapology back then rather than in later life when I nearly drowned attempting a Houdini Style Under-Water Escape Stunt.

I look at the next picture now and am envious at just how truly ecstatically happy the young me in the picture is with their Red Car…

It was at the early age of around 5 and a bit that I had the experience which to this day I can remember quite clearly like it is burnt into my mind of waking up during the night and seeing what I would now in later years refer to as an Alien there staring at me,

Yes I know it sounds crazy and the far more logical and rational explanation is that I was experiencing Sleep Paralysis as Yes, you can see during sleep paralysis, but your visual experience may be a mix of reality and hallucinations.

However the memory is one that feels extremely real indeed, make of that whatever you will.

As mentioned earlier I started performing aged 3 and a bit in late 1978 as Flap the Clown with my Dad in his Clown name of Tizzy on Gandey’s Circus.

When we were not travelling with the Circus our Caravan was parked up on the ground behind one of my Dad’s School friend’s David Morrison and his wife Angela’s house on Prospect Street in Heywood and I went briefly to Magdala Street School where I am told the headmaster and his wife wanted to adopt me!

By the time I was Six we had moved out of the Caravan and into a house located at 7 Metcalfe Terrace in Ainsworth (near Bolton) which I gather is the village that Famous Comedian Peter Kay now lives in.

I got bullied at Ainsworth C of E School, not by the pupils but rather by the teachers and things got worse when for example The Daily Mirror Newspaper came into the school to take photographs of me as “Flap the Clown” and then ran this article

Indeed things got so bad with the way the teachers treated me at the School that we ended up moving back to Heywood where my parents bought a house located at 27 Starkey Street,

When I lived there it had a porch and beau windows, the above being a picture I found on Google Street view.

In around 1994/1995 I ended up whilst doing some Comedy Stage Hypnosis Show’s at venues in Telford (Shropshire) meeting someone who would become my Fiancée and with whom I would move to Telford and live together at 4 Sheepwell Court in the “Ketley Grange” area.

For the record I was born at Cosford RAF Base Hospital near Albrighton which was just a few miles down the road as my parents were due to be in Wales with the Circus during the week of my birth and my Dad did not want me to be born Welsh.

So he left my mum and me in Albrighton at his parents house and as my Grandparents worked at the Cosford RAF base this is where I was then born.

Anyhow by early 1997 we had split up and I had moved back to Heywood.

Briefly I returned home, then I stopped for a while with some close friends before finally moving into 26 Pullman Street, Deeplish, Rochdale.

Then in around Circa 2000 I moved into number 4 Town Mill Brow, College Bank Flats, Rochdale

I had the ground floor flat that used to be one of the care-takers and as such it was bigger than all the other flats, indeed it was a 2 bedroom property but had rooms that were absolutely massive.

The Two windows of the ground floor flat on the block nearest you in the picture was my flat which I initially rented off Rochdale Council, the image above being a view from the car park below the building.

Sadly in recent years they have let the flats and the areas around them go to ruin as can be seen a little in the image above which I got off the internet.

Fortunately when I was living there it was in a far better state of décor and repair.

Before 13th August 2005 had passed which is when I turned 30 years of age, I had walked into Rochdale Council’s offices with a briefcase full of cash and paid them the multiple tens of thousands of pounds in cash to buy my flat or as I referred to it on my business letterheads “Apartment” from the Council with my at the time first wife.

This is where my first wife’s eldest daughter also came to live with us, tragically some years later On the 28th January 2017, I was Shocked to discover that my former Step Daughter (from my first marriage) passed away at 5.12am in the morning.

Ultimately I had bought my own property outright for Cash with no mortgages, loans or borrowing of any kind required just by using profits generated from my Hypnosis, Magical & Mentalism related business interests.

My first wife ended up leaving me and so before I turned 31 the land Registry Deeds were updated to solely bear my name only as the Divorce settlement was such that after paying a sum of money to my ex-wife I took on sole legal ownership of the property,

Then I was lucky enough a short time later to meet my now wife Rachel (pictured above) and on 16th August 2009 we welcomed our “miracle baby” Ashleigh Alexandra Louise Smith to the world

I well remember following the Hospital staff everywhere to ensure they did not accidentally get Ash mixed up with anyone else’s baby as they took her to be cleaned up

As we now had a most welcome new addition to our family, it was soon decided that it would be better for us all if we moved into a house and so we did.

We therefore moved into a 3 bedroomed property on Ashworth Street in Rochdale.

At Ashworth Street I really went to Town in my “SOHO” - Small Office Home Office, surrounding myself with positive memories and influences as shown in the various videos that follow below…

It was whilst living at Ashworth Street that me and Rachel finally got married in Cyprus with a young Ash as our bridesmaid

As Ash was about to become a teenager and with the Flat/Apartment now sold long ago, we decided we needed to move again so that Ash could have a bigger room and so we did to Cromer Street in Rochdale which is where we currently still reside at the time of writing this blog page on 3rd July 2026.

Needless to say since we moved in many home improvements have taken place including a top of the range bathroom suite being installed.

I once again set my mind to ensuring that my office surrounded me with positive memories and inspirational images and objects as per the videos and links to photographs that follow below…
